The fellowship was started from a prophecy given to a christian lady who was a part of Jireh Christian Fellowship (High Halstow),the prophecy was to go west to the woods, Cliffe Woods.
The fellowship has been in existance for the past 15 years as Emmanuel Christian Centre, At first it was held at Cliffe Woods middle school in the village and then progressed to the building we have to this day.
At first the fellowship was called Cliffe Woods Community Church from 1987 until 1989,and operated from the community centre in the village.Then the name was change to Emmanuel Christian Centre.
The church is now registered with the Evangelical Alliance with that name and affiliated with the alliance.
The Fellowship is a free church and a lively place that is made up of a cross section of the local community.
We are committed to bringing Jesus to the adults of the community through their children.And because of this we have a very active childrens Sunday School and Youth programs.We are just a small fellowship with about 40 members and a small group of children from new born up to teens.
